Today I learned that the property tax in Jakarta has been increasing a lot in recent years. It has been hard for me to pay the ever increasing tax with the same income.
Take a look at the price of my property tax below:

The last year (2025) is the highest increase. I am tired of the rent seeking behaviour of the government which demands ever increasing tax with ever decreasing public services. For example: the city get flooded more often, the people are driving more recklessly on the road (driving against the direction).
I desperately want the property tax to lower. If you’re like me, let’s think of a plan to make sure we don’t pay high property taxes.
How does the democracy in Indonesia work? How do I make sure the property taxes lowered? Here I’m assuming that’s what the people want.
